Fall in North Georgia

I went for a north Georgia drive last weekend to see the 'peak' foliage colors. These are a few images I captured along my journey through the lower Appalachian mountains.

Photographic Memory

With my many years of photography journalism and video arts training I should know plenty about the fundamental, compositional elements of photography.

I've effectively applied these aesthetic principles to various projects over the last decade and am exhibiting my knowledge of these basic guidelines in the works displayed throughout this portfolio.

I believe in the Learn One - Do One - Teach One mantra, and this is my way of teaching.

Please enjoy this small tour through my life's adventures while observing my knowledge of the fundamentals.

::Rule of Thirds::
A frame has more tension and energy
than if the subject were simply centered.

::Shallow Depth of Field::

::Balance::
Asymmetrical balance is more dynamic and is often used to create tension, express movement, or convey anger, excitement, joy, or amusement

Symetrical balance is when no part of the composition draws attention to itself and away from the other elements in the frame. It unifies the whole image, but isn't very dynamic or exciting.

::Closure::
Closure is the process by which the brain automatically
completes an image

Closure outside of the frame exists when the mind has to 'fill in the blanks' (see Reification)
